Je’Von Evans Joins WWE Main Roster – WWE appears to be leaning heavily into the “free agent” storyline as 2026 approaches, with multiple top NXT talents now positioned to negotiate their futures on the main roster.
Last week, reports surfaced that former NXT Champion Trick Williams was backstage during the double‑taping of RAW and SmackDown. Follow‑up reporting confirmed that Williams is now officially labeled as a “free agent” within WWE, allowing him to sign with either RAW or SmackDown in the new year. As it turns out, he isn’t the only NXT standout receiving that designation.
During the December 23 episode of WWE RAW, NXT’s Je’Von Evans was shown speaking with RAW General Manager Adam Pearce before his scheduled match against Rayo Americano. Pearce told Evans that he wanted to discuss “business” with him after the match, hinting that something larger was in motion.
Later in the broadcast, commentary confirmed that Evans is now also considered a “free agent” in WWE. Like Trick Williams, Evans will be evaluating offers from both RAW and SmackDown in the coming weeks as he decides where he will land in 2026.
This development also sheds light on Evans’ recent decision to accelerate his NXT Championship opportunity. After winning the title shot at Deadline, Evans chose to cash in his match against Oba Femi at New Year’s Evil weeks earlier than originally planned. With his future on the main roster now in play, Evans may have wanted to resolve his NXT obligations before entering contract discussions.
Evans went on to defeat Rayo Americano in an entertaining match on RAW, continuing his momentum as he prepares for one of the biggest career decisions of his young WWE tenure.
