MJF Takes Aim at WWE’s Handling of Young Talent

MJF Takes Aim at WWE’s Handling of Young Talent – AEW World Champion MJF appeared to take a pointed shot at WWE during a recent interview with Undisputed, criticizing how the industry’s largest promotion positions its younger talent while praising a new wave of emerging stars across wrestling.

MJF was coming off a notable appearance for Limitless Wrestling, where he successfully retained his title against Alec Price. That night also featured a significant announcement, as MJF personally presented both Price and Jordan Oliver with AEW contracts. Speaking about the moment, MJF said the two are “extremely talented” and represent part of a growing generation that will help shape the future of professional wrestling.

While discussing young talent across the industry, MJF acknowledged that WWE has no shortage of gifted performers. He specifically named Dominik Mysterio and Bron Breakker as two of the best young wrestlers currently active. However, without mentioning WWE directly, MJF expressed frustration with what he views as a disconnect between the promotion’s messaging and its actual booking priorities.

“Here’s what saddens me,” MJF said. “There is the big promotion that loves to talk about how much they want to cultivate their young talent, but everyone on the top of their card is not young.”

MJF, now 29 years old, recently became a two-time AEW World Champion after capturing the title at Worlds End 2025. From his perspective, the wrestling industry is at a turning point, where younger performers should be positioned as the driving force rather than supporting acts.

He went on to list a wide range of wrestlers he believes represent the brightest young stars in the business today. Alongside himself, MJF named Konosuke Takeshita, Kris Statlander, Hook, Willow Nightingale, Kyle Fletcher, Kevin Knight, Bandido, Darby Allin, Lee Johnson, Blake Christian, Komander, and Daniel Garcia. The list reflected talent spread across multiple promotions, reinforcing his belief that the next era is already taking shape.

“As much as I love the old generation, this is our time,” MJF said. “It’s our time. I respect the elder statesman. But this is our f**ing time.”*

The comments align with AEW’s ongoing focus on developing younger talent into top-level stars, a contrast MJF appeared eager to highlight. With his championship reign ongoing and his influence growing both on and off the microphone, MJF continues to position himself as one of the most outspoken voices advocating for wrestling’s next generation.
