1/24 AEW Collision Arlington Event Canceled, Show to Be Taped Tonight – AEW has been forced to change plans for this Saturday’s episode of Collision after severe weather impacted the Arlington, Texas area.
Prior to Dynamite, AEW announced that the live Collision event scheduled for Saturday, January 24 at Esports Stadium in Arlington has been officially canceled due to an incoming winter storm expected to bring snow and ice to the region. AEW has been running Esports Stadium for several weeks as part of a January residency, but Mother Nature ultimately disrupted those plans.
Despite the live event cancellation, AEW confirmed that Collision will still air in its usual Saturday night time slot. Instead of broadcasting live from Texas, the episode will be taped tonight in Orlando, Florida, immediately following Dynamite. As of now, there is no confirmation on when the decision was finalized or whether any previously planned matches or segments were altered due to the sudden change.
One bout has already been announced for the taping, with Andrade El Idolo set to compete in his second match since beginning his second run with AEW. Andrade will face CMLL’s Magnus, continuing AEW’s ongoing collaboration with CMLL talent.
AEW released the following official statement addressing the situation:
“Due to impending weather conditions in the region, the #AEWCollision live event originally scheduled for this Saturday, January 24 at Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas has been canceled. Impacted fans will receive an email with instructions for a refund within the next 24-48 hours.
This week’s AEW Collision broadcast will now be taped tonight in Orlando, Florida, after the conclusion of #AEWDynamite and will air this Saturday at 8pm ET on TNT and streaming on HBO Max.”
Fans who had tickets for the Arlington event will receive refund instructions via email within the next 24 to 48 hours. While the cancellation is unfortunate for those planning to attend live, AEW’s quick pivot ensures that Collision will still deliver a full broadcast for viewers at home.
The last-minute adjustment highlights the flexibility AEW has shown when facing logistical challenges, even as unpredictable weather continues to impact live events across the wrestling industry.
