Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer addressed the speculation and cautioned that the bout is not locked in for the WrestleMania card. According to Meltzer, while the match remains a possibility, it should not be viewed as a certainty at this stage of planning.

“That’s not 100 percent by the way…it could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100 percent, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match,” Meltzer said.

The discussion gained traction after Lesnar and Femi crossed paths during the Royal Rumble match. Oba Femi entered the bout at number one and delivered an impressive showing, lasting 39 minutes against a stacked field. His run came to an end when Lesnar caught him with a German suplex and eliminated him from the match. Lesnar’s night was short-lived afterward, as he was eliminated moments later through the combined efforts of Cody Rhodes and LA Knight.

While nothing has been confirmed, the Rumble sequence was widely seen as a potential tease for a future program between the two powerhouses. Femi’s strong performance from the opening spot further elevated his profile, especially following his recent transition from NXT to the main roster.
