Rhea Ripley Suffers Black Eye on SmackDown – Rhea Ripley walked away from the February 20 episode of SmackDown with a noticeable facial injury following her singles match against Giulia. The bout took place at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Florida. During the contest, Ripley appeared to suffer the injury after taking a curb stomp from her opponent.
After the match ended, marks were clearly visible on Ripley’s face. Footage shared online showed the damage, including a pronounced black eye. Ripley later addressed the situation on Instagram. In her post, she shared an image of the injury and included a short message aimed at Giulia, writing “happy birthday.”
The incident adds another layer to the ongoing rivalry between the teams. Ripley currently holds the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship alongside IYO SKY. The champions have been engaged in a feud with Giulia and Kiana James in recent weeks. Tensions between the two sides have continued to build as they move forward on television.
Despite the injury, Ripley remains scheduled for upcoming competition. She is set to participate in the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, one of WWE’s major stipulation bouts on the road to WrestleMania.
This latest injury is not the first time Ripley has dealt with facial damage inside the ring. In 2024, she suffered what was described as an orbital socket and broken nose injury. That setback forced her to compete while wearing a protective face mask. The following year, in 2025, she endured another broken nose, once again requiring protective gear during matches.
Ripley has consistently continued to compete at a high level despite these setbacks. Her latest injury now becomes another challenge as she prepares for future matches while continuing her rivalry on SmackDown.
