Adam Pearce Rejects Becky Lynch’s Petition to Suspend Referee

The RAW General Manager, Adam Pearce, has officially delivered his verdict regarding the growing controversy surrounding Becky Lynch. After Lynch shared a formal statement demanding that referee Jessika Carr be suspended following the Women’s Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber, Pearce posted a video from Indianapolis to address the situation directly.

Pearce confirmed that he had reviewed the written petition submitted by representatives of the former champion, specifically acknowledging the document authored by “Becky Believers” president Holly Hudson. “Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. It is now just past 8pm Eastern as I sit in Indianapolis in preparation for Monday Night RAW… But I come to you in this hour in review and after review of a petition submitted to my office through representatives of one Rebecca Lynch,” Pearce stated.

The General Manager noted that he did not take the accusations lightly, having spent time studying the match footage from Chicago. “I have reviewed your allegations… and have gone over the footage of the match last night at the Elimination Chamber in Chicago between Rebecca Lynch and A.J. Lee for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, specifically centering around the alleged improprieties allegedly committed by referee Jessica Carr,” he explained.

Pearce read directly from the document to highlight the gravity of the claims, which argued that Carr’s actions damaged the integrity of WWE officiating. He spoke on his responsibility to the brand, saying: “This isn’t just about one match or one outcome. It’s about maintaining the integrity of sportsmanship and ensuring that talent, hard work and fair competition determine the winners and losers.” He further described his administrative role, noting: “Part of my jobs at WWE is to act as an arbiter. And in some cases you might make the argument that I am judge, jury and executioner.”

Ultimately, Pearce defended the difficult nature of officiating championship bouts. “When it comes to the job of a WWE referee, I don’t know that there are many jobs in our company that are more important… Her decisions are split second and in the moment and of paramount importance,” he said. After exhaustive review, he delivered a final “no” to the suspension request. “So I have reviewed this petition in depth. I have reviewed and re reviewed and re, re, re reviewed the footage from last night at the Elimination Chamber. And when it comes to the suspension, the request for the suspension of referee Jessica Carr without question… As much as it may pain me to say Becky, the answer is no.”

With the suspension officially denied, the tension between Lynch and WWE management has reached a new high. While AJ Lee remains the reigning champion, all eyes are now on whether Lynch will follow through with her threat to boycott the upcoming episode of RAW.
