The creative path for Iyo Sky is a major topic among fans with only 37 days left until WrestleMania 42. Reports from Bodyslam show that Sky will likely work with her former Damage CTRL partners, The Kabuki Warriors, as the big show in Las Vegas gets closer. WWE has carefully kept Asuka and Iyo Sky apart on WWE RAW and SmackDown recently. This is because a singles match between them is the current plan for the event.
While a one-on-one match is the goal, some people in the company want to add Kairi Sane to the mix. This would change the match into a triple threat. Asuka and Kairi Sane have been moving toward a breakup for several months. A triple threat match is being discussed as a way to finish their long history together on a big stage.
There have been several changes to the schedule in early 2026. Sky was supposed to wrestle the Women’s United States Champion, Giulia, on the February 20 episode of SmackDown. However, the match was canceled at the last minute. WWE officials wanted to save that specific match for a bigger show later on.
Iyo Sky recently dealt with some changes after her team with Rhea Ripley ended. The two stars lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles to Nia Jax and Lash Legend on the February 27 episode of SmackDown. Since that loss, Ripley has moved into a world title feud against Jade Cargill. This left Sky free to return to her roots with Damage CTRL.
WrestleMania 42 will take place on April 18 and 19, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium. This year might see six different women’s matches, which is a record for the company. Fans can expect to see Jade Cargill and Stephanie Vaquer defend their titles. There are also rumors of a match between AJ Lee and Becky Lynch for the Intercontinental Championship.
Stay tuned for more on plans for Iyo Sky at WrestleMania 42.
