Thekla Signs New Multi-Year AEW Contract

A fast-rising star in All Elite Wrestling, Thekla has officially secured her future with AEW after signing a new multi-year contract.

According to a report from Fightful Select, Thekla agreed to the new deal despite already being under a two-year contract that had not yet expired. The decision highlights just how highly AEW values her contributions, as the company moved quickly to extend her stay less than a year into her original agreement.

The report noted that AEW was extremely impressed with her performances, leading to the early renewal. Since arriving in the promotion, Thekla has made an immediate impact, quickly rising through the ranks of the women’s division.

Her momentum peaked when she captured the AEW Women’s World Championship from Kris Statlander on an episode of AEW Dynamite. The title victory capped off one of the fastest ascents in the division in recent memory and solidified her status as one of the promotion’s top talents.

The Austria native first signed with AEW following a run in Japan and made her debut in May 2025. She immediately inserted herself into the spotlight by targeting Jamie Hayter, signaling her intentions early. Soon after, she aligned with Skye Blue and Julia Hart to form the Triangle of Madness faction, further elevating her presence on television.

In a recent interview with Chris Jericho, Thekla shared that she always believed she would eventually land in AEW. She pointed to the company’s identity as a key factor, noting that it carries a “punk feel” and a “fresh feel,” which aligned with her own style and approach to wrestling.

Thekla retained the AEW Women’s World Championship on the March 25 episode of Dynamite, defeating Mina Shirakawa with the use of brass knuckles.

With a new contract now in place and strong backing from AEW management, Thekla appears set to remain a central figure in the women’s division for the foreseeable future.
