Daniel Moody, the son of late WWE Hall of Famer Paul Bearer, has passed away at the age of 39, adding another tragic chapter to a family deeply connected to professional wrestling.
According to information shared via a GoFundMe page created in his name, Moody had been dealing with serious health complications dating back to November. The page noted that he initially went to the hospital for a procedure but suffered a major medical emergency that left him in long-term care.
“Daniel went to the hospital in November for a procedure and suffered a major health crisis and is now in long-term care.”
The fundraiser was originally launched to help cover growing medical and insurance expenses as his condition worsened. However, the situation later took a heartbreaking turn, and the page was updated following his passing. Donations are now being directed toward funeral expenses as his loved ones prepare to lay him to rest. As of now, no official cause of death has been publicly confirmed.
Following the news, Steve Stasiak of Book Pro Wrestlers shared a heartfelt message remembering Moody and reflecting on the family’s long-standing ties to the wrestling business.
“For those who met him, worked with him, or simply followed along over the years, this one hits on a different level. There’s history there. There’s family there. And there’s a bond to the business that never really leaves.”
He added:
“Moments like this remind you how small the wrestling world really is… and how deep those roots go.”
Moody was reportedly the last surviving member of his immediate family. His father, Paul Bearer, best known for his iconic role alongside The Undertaker in WWE, passed away in 2013 following a heart attack. His mother, Dianna, died in 2009, while his older brother, Michael, passed away in 2014.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Moody remained involved in the wrestling industry, competing on the independent scene under the name DJ Pringle. He worked for various promotions throughout Alabama and maintained a connection to the business that defined his family’s legacy.
Daniel Moody’s passing is a significant loss for those who knew him and for a wrestling community that has long been tied to his family’s history.
