AEW Dynasty Post‑Show Scrum Highlights – Several AEW names, including Tony Khan, Thekla, members of The Conglomeration, and Kevin Knight, spoke to the media following Sunday’s AEW Dynasty event in Vancouver. The post‑show scrum covered injuries, backstage policies, cross‑promotional relationships, and personal reflections from talent. Below are the major highlights.
Tony Khan
Khan opened the scrum by revealing that he wanted MJF present to take questions, but MJF declined. He then addressed the status of Gabe Kidd, confirming that Kidd is out indefinitely with a shoulder injury currently being evaluated.
Khan also discussed his involvement in helping secure a new main event for the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Show, saying he stepped in because he wanted to support the event during a difficult moment.
On the business side, Khan noted that HBO Max buys were “very high,” suggesting this may be the most‑purchased Dynasty event to date.
Khan was asked about AEW’s social media policy following Ricochet’s recent controversial post. He confirmed that a policy is in place, Ricochet violated it, and the two had a “frank discussion,” but the company is moving forward.
He compared AEW’s collaboration with Maple Leaf Pro to the spirit of Forbidden Door, praising Scott D’Amore and reiterating his enthusiasm for working with multiple promotions, including CMLL. Khan added that this PPV cycle had the most changes since the original Forbidden Door, citing the sudden absences of Toni Storm and Kyle Fletcher.
When asked about Tokyo Joshi Pro’s event in Vancouver earlier that day, Khan said he would have likely collaborated if asked, naming Miyu Yamashita and Nicole Matthews as talents he admires.
Khan closed the scrum by sharing Canadian AEW memories with Renee Paquette, recalling her 2022 debut and Sunday’s show. Paquette highlighted Danielson vs. Okada, Omega vs. Ospreay, and the Adam Copeland–Christian Cage hockey fight.
Thekla
Thekla confirmed she has re‑signed with AEW, saying the company “needed” her and that the platform is perfect for her. She described herself as hands‑on with her presentation, noting that she paints, writes, and designs her own gear.
The Conglomeration
Kyle O’Reilly spoke emotionally about the night’s significance, saying it meant the world to him. He noted that while his late father couldn’t see his win, his daughter was there to witness it.
Kevin Knight
Knight discussed headlining the Mark Hitchcock Memorial Show, admitting he learned about it only when the announcement went public. Khan apologized but praised Knight for consistently stepping up. Khan then announced that Claudio Castagnoli will challenge Knight for the TNT Championship on Dynamite.
Knight also addressed speculation about tension with Speedball Mike Bailey following his singles title win, saying he would be happy to defend the title against Bailey.
