Punk is on the mic, he says wrestling is a business and it’s not for children and it’s not a popularity contest. He says that he’s tired of being nice. He calls the fans passionate and smart. Says he’s never fitted in somewhere more than professional wrestling. He says that some people hate him and he understands that his “mere” present makes people uncomfortable. He says that the truth is painful. The crowd starts chanting, “Elite.” He says that the crowd can call him whatever they want and says he’s in a business with “counterfeit bucks.” The crowd starts chanting his name again. 

Says he has a lot to get off his chest after saying that “the king is back, baby.” He later adds that he will never compromise and that there are people that feel that he owes them an apology. The crowd chants his name. He is holding a bag that has the AEW title in it and says that he “earned it.” Ends the promo with, “Tell me if I’m telling lies.” 

Promo airs before Wardlow defends his title against Luchasaurus.
