WWE Racial Discrimination Lawsuit Comes to a Close – Former WWE writer Britney Abrahams, who had filed a lawsuit against WWE and several individuals alleging racial discrimination and wrongful termination, has voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit without prejudice against all defendants except WWE.
The dismissal “without prejudice” means that Abrahams could potentially refile or modify the lawsuit in the future or bring it to a different court against any or all of the defendants.
In April, Abrahams had initially filed the lawsuit in the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She accused WWE of terminating her employment after she objected to the use of racially insensitive language and stereotypes in WWE scene scripts, specifically citing examples involving Bianca Belair and Apollo Crews.
Individual defendants named in the lawsuit included Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Ryan Callahan, Christine Lubrano, Chris Dunn, Mike Heller, and Jen Pepperman. The recent dismissal applies to all of these individuals.
This development could potentially indicate that Abrahams and her legal team are in the process of negotiating a settlement with WWE. However, there has been no official confirmation or comment on this matter from either party at this time.
