Update on Warner Bros Discovery – AEW Partnership – Since its launch in 2019, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) has maintained the same television partnership in the United States with Warner Bros. Discovery. AEW currently broadcasts its programming on TBS and TNT.
As previously reported, AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery have been engaged in extensive negotiations to extend their TV rights agreement. The existing deal for AEW is set to expire at the end of 2024.
Warner Bros. Discovery has expressed a desire for AEW to produce more pay-per-view (PPV) events, which led to AEW hosting WrestleDream and planning to increase the number of PPVs in 2024. This is because Warner Bros. Discovery receives a share of the PPV buys, thanks to the shows being broadcast in the United States on Bleacher Report.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Warner Bros. Discovery’s inclusion of Dynamite in their TBS schedule through the majority of 2025 indicates their expectation to retain the rights to AEW programming. This suggests that the partnership between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery is likely to continue beyond the current agreement.
Meltzer wrote, “For what this is worth, Andrew Zarian reported that AEW Dynamite is listed on the schedule for TBS through the third quarter of 2025. Now, TV schedules change in the blink of an eye, but that would indicate that WBD is very confident they will be getting a deal when the current one expires at the end of 2024.”
