Rhea Ripley to Remain Sidelined, Not Expected Back for SummerSlam – According to a new report, Rhea Ripley is set to remain sidelined for the foreseeable future, and she’s not scheduled to be back in time for SummerSlam.
WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley was forced to relinquish her title due to injury on the April 15 episode of WWE RAW. At the time, it was noted that she would be out of action for the next few months.
In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided an update on Rhea Ripley’s injury and her recovery. He wrote that Ripley is rehabbing her shoulder, as opposed to having surgery. He stated that she was not scheduled to be back for WWE SummerSlam.
However, Meltzer wrote that this could change if she heals faster than expected, or if the storyline changes and she is needed for an appearance. Meltzer also wrote that if rehab failed to heal the shoulder enough, Ripley could need surgery.
“Right now she’s not scheduled back for SummerSlam, but we were also told if she heals up faster than expected or if the storyline changes to where they need her for an appearance, it’s still possible. If rehab can’t mend the shoulder enough, she could need surgery.”
Following Ripley vacating the title, Becky Lynch won the gold. Liv Morgan then beat her to win the title at WWE King and Queen of the Ring. Morgan has been involved in a storyline with Dominik Mysterio as part of her feud with Ripley.
