John Cena Tells CM Punk He’s the Best Bullshitter in the World – John Cena quickly took out R-Truth using his belt in the main event of the June 20 episode of WWE SmackDown.
Then, CM Punk’s music hit, and the former champion made his way to the ring, clearly aiming to confront Cena. A tense exchange followed, with Cena throwing the first punch, but Punk quickly retaliated. When Punk tried to strike Cena with the title belt, Cena countered with a kick to Punk’s groin, then landed a heavy belt shot.
Cena disappeared under the ring briefly and pulled out a table. He set it up at ringside while Punk was still trying to recover. After hitting Punk again with the title belt, Cena hoisted Punk onto his shoulders and delivered an Attitude Adjustment, slamming him through the table with a thunderous crash.
With Punk down, Cena grabbed a microphone and took a seat on the turnbuckles, chuckling as he began his promo. “As you lay there in your most uncomfortable state,” Cena said, “I hope you can listen and digest this.” He warned Punk that before he leaves with the title in six months, he has a lot to get off his chest.
Cena admitted he doesn’t hate Punk or dislike him, but instead he likes him — more than anyone else he has shared a locker room with. The frustration comes from the idea that Punk claims to be the “best in the world.” Cena declared himself the greatest of all time but acknowledged Punk’s strength in one area: “You are the best bullshitter in the world.” He let out a curse word, showing the intensity of his feelings.
The truth, Cena said, is that he is jealous of Punk — jealous that Punk has convinced people he is the best. “They chant for you, they sing to you, but they don’t believe a damn thing you say,” Cena stated. “You change your values as much as I change my t-shirts.” Cena accused Punk of being an opportunist who is loud but ultimately weak.
Cena called out Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth, and Matt Cardona, highlighting the absence of anyone else willing to stand up to Punk. He told Punk, “There’s nobody backstage to cut my mic and save your ass because I am your only friend.” He mocked Punk’s mic skills as repetitive and dull, saying Punk was “promo potato salad” who had lost his edge.
Further criticizing Punk, Cena said he’s no longer the voice of the voiceless but a millionaire despite himself. “You aren’t a punk, you’re a capitalist,” Cena said bluntly. “You aren’t against TKO, you’re Mr. TKO.” Punk’s tweets might be loud, but his actions don’t match up, Cena claimed.
Cena warned Punk that in Saudi Arabia, people will hear loud music as everyone realizes Cena is the greatest of all time. “They know,” Cena said, “you were the best in the world for seven minutes, fourteen years ago.”
Cena delivered a final jab: “If after Night of Champions, you’re delusional enough to believe you’re still the best in the world, well, it’s a small world after all.” He concluded with a nod to the hometown crowd: “You’re welcome, Grand Rapids.”
Cena challenged Punk to bring his A game to Night of Champions, acknowledging the tension in the arena was shifting. As the referee checked on Punk, Cena assured the crowd he wouldn’t inflict more damage because both men have a big match coming up — the Best in the World versus the Greatest of All Time for the Undisputed Championship.
He predicted fans would sing and chant, but insisted they’re smart enough to see the truth: “The champ is here.”
Wrapping up, Cena told the crowd he didn’t need the final minutes because “Elvis has left the building,” making it clear he didn’t need any more time to prove his point. He thanked Punk for “letting me steal your promo.”
