Jim Ross Says Cancer is Gone – Wrestling legend Jim Ross has shared a major health update and his plans to return to AEW. Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross confirmed that his colon cancer is officially gone and that he’s preparing to resume work, with a targeted return at AEW All In in Dallas on July 12.
“You never know about tomorrow. The cancer’s gone, which I’m very happy to say,” Ross revealed. “So you know, I’m blessed that my health has returned, and I’m feeling pretty damn good.”
Ross has faced several health setbacks over the past few years but made it clear his focus now is getting back to doing what he loves. “Just get back to work. I’m tired of sitting at home, and I’m excited about the opportunities that await. I am feeling better. My plan is to be in Dallas for the big event.”
He also took time to praise AEW President Tony Khan for his unwavering support throughout his medical leave. “I’m very indebted to AEW for hiring me, bringing me on board, and Tony Khan has been amazingly wonderful during my illness,” Ross said. “He supported me wholeheartedly and I really do appreciate that. That’s the way a boss should act — take care of your people. And Tony Khan has certainly taken good care of me, and I plan on being reciprocal and doing my best to take care of him in my role going forward.”
Ross is expected to be part of the AEW All In weekend in Arlington, Texas. The festivities will kick off with Starrcast on July 11 and wrap with the major pay-per-view on July 12 at Globe Life Field. While it’s not yet confirmed whether Ross will return to full-time commentary, his presence for AEW’s biggest event of the summer looks likely.
