AEW Now Holding Actual Production Meetings

AEW Now Holding Actual Production Meetings – A backstage shift in All Elite Wrestling’s television production approach has come to light, as AEW President Tony Khan has reportedly begun holding structured, formal production meetings before shows — a notable change from his previous system. The update was first shared by Bryan Alvarez through his X (formerly Twitter) subscriber feed and later discussed on Wrestling Observer Live.

According to Alvarez, Khan has “been doing actual production meetings for a while now,” involving key personnel such as top agents, announcers, and other members of the AEW creative and production teams. These meetings now take place ahead of AEW TV tapings to ensure more unified planning and coordination.

The shift marks a significant departure from Khan’s earlier method, which was described as less centralized. “Tony [Khan’s] production meeting was, well, I go and I meet with these guys and then I go meet with these guys… He just did these meetings throughout the day and that was what he considered production meetings,” Alvarez explained. “Other people were like, that’s not a production meeting. So the point of this is, of late, he actually is now doing production meetings.”

While Alvarez did not specify the exact date the change began, he clarified that this new structure has been in place for several months, signaling a more streamlined process behind the scenes.

This internal adjustment comes at a critical time for AEW, as the company continues to ramp up preparations for its annual AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view, scheduled for August 24 in London, England. With AEW entering a period packed with high-profile events, the move toward a more conventional production structure could reflect an effort to improve communication, show flow, and overall consistency as the promotion grows.
