Booker T Praises The Hardy Boyz, Questions Legitimacy of ECW Titles – On the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Booker T discussed the legacies of The Hardy Boyz and The Dudley Boyz following their final match at TNA’s Bound For Glory event. While offering strong praise for The Hardys, he also drew attention with candid remarks about the status of ECW’s championships.
Booker T called The Hardy Boyz the defining tag team of their generation, saying, “I give the Hardys that nod as being the greatest tag team of their era, they really are.” He went on to express interest in seeing Matt and Jeff appear for his promotion, Reality of Wrestling, adding that it would give fans a chance to “pay homage to a tag team that has done so much for the business.”
Turning to The Dudley Boyz, Booker T acknowledged their long list of championship accomplishments but made it clear he doesn’t view all of those titles equally. He drew a line between what he considers legitimate world championships and regional ones, categorizing ECW’s belts as the latter. “You can’t count those. You can’t count ECW and you can’t count HUSTLE,” Booker said. “The rest of those titles, you count them. Those are legitimate world titles. They were defended all over the world, not like the ECW titles… you’re running shows at 3 a.m. in the morning on the Sunshine Network. Come on. Let’s just keep it real here.”
The discussion followed The Hardy Boyz’s “Final Table” match against Team 3D (The Dudley Boyz) at Bound For Glory on October 12, 2025. In that match, The Hardys retained both the TNA and NXT World Tag Team Championships, closing the chapter on one of wrestling’s most storied rivalries.
