AEW WrestleDream Main Event Ends Abruptly Due To Timing and Safety Concerns – The conclusion of AEW WrestleDream 2025 left fans stunned when the broadcast of the “I Quit” main event between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley abruptly cut to black just seconds after the finish. Allin had forced Moxley to verbally submit, then raised an American flag in celebration before the feed ended without showing any replays or aftermath, sparking immediate confusion among viewers.
Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live later explained that the sudden cutoff was unplanned. According to Alvarez, AEW ran out of broadcast time at the exact moment Moxley submitted, forcing production to end the show instantly. “The real-life reason was that they were completely out of time. The moment [Moxley] gave up and Darby ran up and started celebrating with the flag in the corner, it was off the air. So it was a timing issue. Someone also said he sliced up his arm, and they had to end it quickly before the Missouri Pro Wrestling Commission decided to stop it. It was mostly a timing issue,” Alvarez said.
Reports following the event suggest that Allin sustained a significant cut on his arm during the closing minutes of the match. The Missouri State Athletic Commission was reportedly monitoring the situation closely, prompting AEW officials to wrap the segment quickly in case a medical stoppage became necessary.
The match itself lived up to the brutal reputations of both competitors, with multiple violent sequences, including a moment when Moxley forced Allin’s head into a fish tank. Despite the chaos, fans witnessed a shocking return before the blackout — WWE Hall of Famer Sting appeared to help Allin turn the tide against Moxley, earning one of the loudest reactions of the night.
AEW has not released an official statement on the broadcast cutoff, though sources have confirmed that Allin received medical attention following the match. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
