Zaria to Defend Sol Ruca’s Title at Halloween Havoc – The upcoming NXT Halloween Havoc event has taken an unexpected turn after Sol Ruca, the reigning NXT Women’s North American and WWE Women’s Speed Champion, announced that she’s been sidelined by injury. Ruca appeared on the October 21 episode of NXT using crutches, standing alongside her tag team partner Zaria as she addressed the crowd and NXT General Manager Ava.

Ruca revealed that she suffered the injury during last Friday’s SmackDown match, where she and Zaria challenged WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss. Due to the setback, Ruca confirmed she’s not medically cleared to defend her Women’s North American Championship against Blake Monroe at Halloween Havoc.

Monroe interrupted the announcement, declaring that she should automatically be awarded the title since Ruca can’t compete. Before Ava could render a decision, Zaria stepped forward and volunteered to take Ruca’s place in the match. Ava left the decision up to the injured champion, who gave her partner the green light to defend the title on her behalf.

The segment ended with Zaria asserting herself as a legitimate threat to Monroe, dropping her with a devastating finisher before holding the North American Championship high above her fallen opponent. The crowd erupted as Zaria stood tall beside her injured partner, signaling that she’s ready to fight for Ruca — and perhaps, prove that she belongs in the championship spotlight herself.
