JBL Predicts CM Punk Will Win Vacant World Heavyweight Title – JBL shared his thoughts on the upcoming World Heavyweight Championship match between CM Punk and Jey Uso, following Seth Rollins’ recent injury and title vacancy. Speaking on the Something to Wrestle podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer said he believes the moment presents an opportunity for someone new to rise — and that person should be CM Punk.
“I think on Punk, you know, with crisis comes ladders. And anytime there’s a crisis, you know, somebody steps in, voids are always filled,” JBL said. He explained that Rollins’ absence has left a major gap in WWE programming, one that the right star could step into and carry forward.
“You have a void here left, a huge void left by Seth, you know, somebody’s going to fill that void. And I think CM Punk can fill that very easily, very well, not easily,” JBL continued, correcting himself. “Nobody can fill a spot of Seth Rollins easily, but then he could fill it very well.”
Despite praising both Punk and Jey Uso, JBL made it clear where his prediction stands. “I think it’s CM Punk,” he said. “I think betting put money on it, CM Punk.”
Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 will feature CM Punk and Jey Uso competing to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion, following Rollins’ injury at Crown Jewel that forced him to vacate the title. Rollins underwent shoulder surgery earlier this month and is expected to be out for an extended period.
If JBL’s prediction holds true, the victory would mark CM Punk’s first world title win since returning to WWE late last year.
