Shinsuke Nakamura Reveals His Ultimate Goal in WWE – Shinsuke Nakamura has opened up about the biggest goal that continues to drive him in WWE — winning a World Championship.

After reverting to his fan-favorite persona earlier this month, Nakamura made a strong return by answering Sami Zayn’s United States Championship open challenge on the October 10, 2025, episode of SmackDown. Although the match ended in a no-contest, The King of Strong Style made it clear that his ambitions stretch far beyond the U.S. Title.

Speaking with Tokyo Sports, Nakamura revealed that capturing a World Championship remains his ultimate mission and something no male Japanese wrestler has accomplished in the United States.

“I believe in it, so I keep going. That’s the World Heavyweight Championship, I just want to win that. I think that’s the one thing that Japanese wrestlers, especially men, have yet to break through on this American stage. I don’t know if it’s proof. But I can’t help but wonder what would happen if I couldn’t do it. I hope I can leave some kind of path, or hope, for the next generation of Japanese and Asian wrestlers.”

In addition to his WWE aspirations, Nakamura’s name has surfaced in discussions about a potential dream match in Japan. Recent reports indicated that Nakamura was considered internally by NJPW as a possible opponent for Hiroshi Tanahashi’s retirement match at Wrestle Kingdom 20 next year. However, the report described the idea as a “pipe dream,” noting that WWE’s involvement could complicate NJPW’s ongoing partnership with AEW and CMLL.

Nakamura, who first joined WWE in 2016, has captured the Intercontinental, United States, and NXT Championships, but a world title remains the one accolade that has eluded him so far.
