WWE Has Long-Term Plans for LA Knight

WWE Has Long-Term Plans for LA Knight – LA Knight has faced a brutal stretch of days when it comes to wins and losses, but his standing within WWE reportedly remains as strong as ever.

On last Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Knight advanced to the finals of the Last Time is Now tournament, earning a shot at facing Gunther for the right to challenge John Cena in his retirement match. Knight pushed Gunther to the limit, but The Ring General forced him to submit, securing the career-defining showdown with Cena.

Knight’s momentum took another hit on Monday’s WWE RAW. After stepping in to save Rey Mysterio earlier in the evening, Knight battled Logan Paul in the main event. Just as the match was building toward its climax, the mystery masked man—who has repeatedly targeted major names on RAW—struck again. The attacker stomped Knight’s face into the announce table while the referee was distracted, handing Paul the opening he needed to score the victory.

The Vision delivered an even more devastating message once the bell rang. Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed unleashed a post-match assault that spilled backstage. The attack ended with Reed crushing Knight with a Tsunami splash on top of a parked car, a moment that led to Knight being stretchered out of the arena and transported by ambulance.

Even with these consecutive losses and injuries, Knight’s future appears secure. A new report from Bodyslam.net indicates that Knight is still viewed internally as a “top player” for WWE. According to the report, 2026 is shaping up to be a far more favorable year for him both creatively and competitively. “Knight is being positioned as one of the top babyfaces in the company and with him being involved with The Vision, it’s only going to grow the crowd reactions in a more positive way,” the report states. “The company is aware of the reactions and want to play the long game with Knight.”
