Priscilla Kelly Clarifies Past Mental Health Comments – Priscilla Kelly, formerly known to WWE fans as Gigi Dolin during her time in NXT, has spoken out to clarify recent reports surrounding her mental health. In a new YouTube vlog, Kelly addressed how comments she previously made about depression during her WWE run have been misrepresented, stressing that she does not suffer from ongoing or chronic mental health issues.
Kelly explained that she has always been open about difficult aspects of her life, including personal struggles and challenges faced inside the wrestling business, but feels her honesty has been turned into misleading headlines.
“I really hate when I do these interviews, which I rarely do in the first place because people love to just take clickbait titles and twist what I say and blow it out of proportion,” Kelly said. “I’ve always been very open with mental health struggles, my real life, my childhood, my struggles with my parents, my everything in my life. I’m very open about it because there might be somebody somewhere that needs someone to relate to.”
Kelly clarified that the depression she discussed was tied to a very specific and limited period during her NXT tenure. She emphasized that the situation was not related to WWE as a company or its coaching staff, but rather to issues involving certain individuals behind the scenes.
“I talked about a small period of time in NXT where I went through depression, and I was suicidal because of some really shitty things going on behind the scenes,” Kelly said. “That was nothing to do with any of the coaches or WWE itself. It was a small fragment of my time in NXT and a small fragment of my life.”
She expressed frustration that those comments have been interpreted as evidence of permanent mental health problems, something she strongly denied.
“People are acting like I have permanent mental health issues or I’m constantly in a suicidal depressed state. That’s not true,” Kelly stated. “I went through a down period.”
Now 28, Kelly said experiencing low points is part of being human and rejected the idea that past struggles define her present. She noted that she is currently in a positive place personally and professionally.
“I’m a normal person that has been through some stuff,” Kelly said. “I think we’ve got to stop taking one down point in someone’s life and turning it into ‘this person has chronic depression.’ That’s not true. I’m happy now. Everything’s great. Life comes in waves.”
Kelly’s comments serve as a direct response to the growing narrative online and reinforce her desire to be open without being mischaracterized. WrestlingAttitude.Com will continue to follow updates on Kelly as she moves forward in her post-WWE career.
