AEW Continental Classic Update After Holiday Bash – Wednesday’s three-hour Holiday Bash edition of AEW Dynamite + Collision featured three important matches in the AEW Continental Classic as the tournament continues to move closer to its conclusion. With several competitors tightly packed in both leagues, every result is now playing a major role in shaping who advances.
The night opened with a Blue League matchup as former AEW World Champion Jon Moxley defeated Roderick Strong. Strong entered the match already eliminated from contention in the Blue block, but he was still looking to play spoiler. Moxley, however, remained focused and secured the victory, keeping himself firmly in the hunt as the standings tighten near the top.
In the Gold League, PAC faced Kyle Fletcher in their first-ever singles match in AEW. PAC picked up the win, handing Fletcher his second straight loss in the tournament. With the victory, PAC moved into a crowded tie near the top of the Gold League. He now sits alongside Mike Bailey, Fletcher, and Kazuchika Okada, all locked at six points. The result further complicates an already competitive league where separation has been hard to find.
The final Continental Classic bout of the night returned to the Blue League, where Orange Cassidy earned a much-needed pinfall victory over Mascara Dorada. The win brought Cassidy to six points, tying him with Moxley. Both men now sit one point behind the league leaders, Konosuke Takeshita and Claudio Castagnoli, who remain on top with seven points each. With multiple matches still to come, the Blue League remains wide open.
