The final first round match in the tournament that saw Megan Bayne and Marina Shafir take on Tay Melo and Anna Jay kicked off the “AEW Collision” portion of the night, and it was Melo and Shafir who kicked off the match as they utilized their judo backgrounds.
The match would quickly break down as all four women spilled to the outside. TayJay got the better of the exchange with a pair of Crossbodies off of the barricade as the match returned to the ring. However, once everyone was back in the ring, it was Bayne who took control of the match for her team as the match entered the commercial break. During the break, Bayne and Shafir worked over both Jay and Melo with strikes and kicks, cutting the ring in half in the process. Jay did managed to tag in, but Bayne maintained control by grounding her opponent with submissions and holds.
Back from the break and Jay made a vital tag to Melo, leading to both women landing strikes in the corners to work the match back in their favor. They landed a pair of DDT’s and secured a pair of Guillotines, but Bayne and Shafir powered through and countered with a pair of Suplexes. TayJay did manage to stay on top briefly as Jay tried to lock in the Queenslayer, but Shafir got the blind tag and quickly secured the Mother’s Milk, choking Jay out in the process and winning the match for her team.
After the bout, the Timeless Love Bombs appeared on the big screen, with Storm telling Bayne and Shafir that they will wear their skulls as a pearl necklace and even teased the stipulation for their bout being a Taipei Death Match or a Chicken Coop Match. Storm rounded out her promo by telling Jon Moxley that once he sees what she and Shirakawa do to Shafir and Bayne, he will p*** himself with blood.
