AEW Reportedly Considering Adding Younger Talent to The Hurt Syndicate

AEW Reportedly Considering Adding Younger Talent to The Hurt Syndicate – The Hurt Syndicate has been one of AEW’s most dominant factions over the past year, and according to a new report, the group could soon expand. Fightful Select reports that there have been internal discussions within AEW about introducing younger members to the faction, though no specific names have been confirmed at this time.

The report, via Sean Ross Sapp, makes clear that the idea is to strengthen the group by adding fresh talent, but it also addresses speculation surrounding Cedric Alexander. Many fans have pointed to Alexander as a natural fit, given his past association with the group in WWE. However, Fightful has not heard of any movement regarding Alexander joining AEW. He has recently worked matches for TNA, though his contractual status with that promotion is uncertain.

The report further dismisses online rumors about MVP potentially leaving AEW, clarifying that the veteran leader remains a key part of the group. All current members of the Hurt Syndicate are signed to multi-year contracts and remain in good standing with the company.

The Hurt Syndicate, composed of MVP, Bobby Lashley, and Shelton Benjamin, has been a centerpiece act for AEW. Their WWE history as The Hurt Business continues to fuel fan speculation about a reunion with Alexander, who, alongside Benjamin, once held the Raw Tag Team Championship while Lashley reigned as WWE Champion. Despite the nostalgia, AEW has not moved toward adding Alexander, and his inclusion remains a fan-driven fantasy scenario for now.

The faction will next compete at AEW All Out on Saturday, September 20, 2025, where they are scheduled to take on Ricochet and The Gates of Agony in a trios match.
