AJ Styles Signs WWE Contract Extension – A new report from Fightful Select has added context to the ongoing speculation surrounding AJ Styles’ WWE contract status.
According to the report, Styles has told people close to him that he has signed a one-year contract extension with WWE. However, it remains unclear when that extension was signed or when it is set to expire. WWE has not confirmed the extension, and Fightful noted that they were unable to verify whether WWE may have added time to the contract due to Styles’ injury-related absences in recent years.
Back in April 2022, Styles had mentioned that he triggered an option to extend his then-current WWE deal, though he never disclosed the length of that extension. That move helped delay retirement discussions, but the veteran has since made it clear that the end of his in-ring career is in sight.
Earlier this year, Styles stated that he intends to retire before he turns 50 and is not afraid of walking away from the ring. While he has not given a specific date, the now 48-year-old wrestler has expressed a desire to remain involved with WWE in some capacity after his in-ring days are over.
Styles has remained active on television in recent months. He picked up back-to-back victories in June, defeating Chad Gable and JD McDonagh, but has not wrestled since June 16. His absence has fueled some fan speculation, but nothing official has been announced regarding his current status or future plans.
