Blake Monroe is reportedly expected to make her official WWE SmackDown debut by the end of May.
According to PWInsider, the current expectation internally is that Monroe will begin appearing on SmackDown television before the month concludes, although the timetable could still change.
Blake Monroe WWE SmackDown debut
Monroe, whose real name is Mariah May Mead, was officially confirmed as part of the SmackDown roster earlier this month after finishing her run in WWE NXT.
WWE has already aired promotional vignettes teasing her arrival on the blue brand, but she has not yet appeared physically on SmackDown programming.
Before joining WWE’s main roster, Monroe had a notable run in NXT, where she captured the NXT Women’s North American Championship. Her final major feud on the brand ended when she lost the title to Tatum Paxley in a casket match shortly before her call-up.
Monroe built her reputation internationally before signing with WWE. She first gained attention wrestling across the United Kingdom independent scene before moving to Japan to work for World Wonder Ring Stardom. During her time there, she won the Goddesses of Stardom Championship alongside Mina Shirakawa.
She later signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2023 and quickly became one of the promotion’s featured women’s stars. During her AEW run, Monroe won the AEW Women’s World Championship before leaving the company and signing with WWE in June 2025.
Following news of her SmackDown promotion, Mark Henry spoke highly of Monroe’s abilities, praising the range of her in-ring style and saying she has no major weaknesses as a performer.
Henry specifically highlighted Monroe’s versatility, pointing to her ability to combine high-flying offense, technical wrestling, striking, and chain wrestling.
With WWE already airing debut vignettes and internal expectations reportedly targeting a May arrival, Monroe’s first official SmackDown appearance appears to be approaching soon.
