Backstage News on Last-Minute Changes and Talent Absences on AEW Dynamite

Backstage News on Last-Minute Changes and Talent Absences on AEW Dynamite – Following a successful All In weekend in London, AEW returned to Chicago, Illinois for “AEW Dynamite” with All Out just days away. However, real-life situations led to some last-minute changes on the show.

On “Wrestling Observer Radio,” Dave Meltzer revealed that a segment between Konosuke Takeshita and Kenny Omega was initially planned for the show. Takeshita and his manager Don Callis were set to discuss their strategy for their upcoming match at All Out, but Kenny Omega was notably absent due to unforeseen circumstances.

The impact of a hurricane was felt as several individuals, including Kenny Omega and others from Florida, encountered travel issues, disrupting their plans to appear on the show. Additionally, Chris Jericho also faced challenges arriving in Chicago due to the weather, although he did manage to make it to “Dynamite.” Beyond weather-related matters, AEW faced further complications as both Saraya and Swerve Strickland were removed from the show’s lineup due to undisclosed illnesses.

Furthermore, it’s been reported that some talents were absent from the show to attend the funeral services of Bray Wyatt, which AEW owner Tony Khan reportedly permitted. Despite the challenges in assembling “Dynamite,” AEW remains confident that these issues won’t extend to affect “AEW Collision” on Saturday or the highly anticipated All Out pay-per-view on Sunday.

Concerns about Saraya’s health seem to be relatively short-term, as she is scheduled to team up with fellow Outcasts Ruby Soho and Toni Storm on “Collision” in a match against Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, and TBS Champion Kris Statlander.
