Backstage News on Recent NXT Call-Ups Not Being Used on RAW This Week

Backstage News on Recent NXT Call-Ups Not Being Used on RAW This Week – May 6 episode of WWE RAW delved into the aftermath of the Backlash France Premium Live Event from Saturday, while also commencing the buildup for the upcoming King & Queen of the Ring Premium Live Event later this month in Saudi Arabia. The show featured several first-round matches for the tournament, setting the stage for intense competition.

This RAW also marked the first since the WWE Draft, where recent NXT call-ups were expected to make their presence felt. However, not all of them were utilized as anticipated.

Ilja Dragunov, Lyra Valkyria, Blair Davenport, Kiana James, Carmelo Hayes, Baron Corbin, and Dijak transitioned from NXT to the main roster across Raw and SmackDown as part of the Draft. Additionally, another star is reportedly poised for a call-up soon.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, “several other NXT call-ups and draftees were brought to RAW and not used,” likely due to time constraints. This episode was reportedly one of the most heavily promoted in RAW’s history.

Dragunov and Valkyria did compete in matches on Raw as part of the ongoing tournaments, advancing to the next round. However, it was mentioned in the report that other tournament matches had to be postponed to next week due to time constraints leading up to the Premium Live Event.
