Barry Windham Reveals Mike Rotunda Is in Hospice Care – WWE Hall of Famer Barry Windham has revealed that his longtime friend, former tag team partner, and brother-in-law Mike Rotunda is currently in hospice care. Windham shared the difficult news during an emotional interview with veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter.

Rotunda, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame earlier this year alongside his late son Bray Wyatt, is best known for his in-ring personas as Irwin R. Shyster (I.R.S.) and Michael Wallstreet. The two Hall of Famers have shared decades of history, both professionally and personally, having teamed together in the U.S. Express during the 1980s.

During the interview, Windham reflected on his storied wrestling career and early influences, including Dusty Rhodes, Eddie Graham, and Don Muraco. When the topic turned to the late Bray Wyatt, Windham paused and delivered the heartbreaking update about Rotunda.

“It’s kind of tough right now,” Windham said with visible emotion. “You know, Mike is in hospice right now.”

Windham expressed deep love and admiration for the Rotunda family, adding, “I love that family.” When asked about Wyatt’s best quality, he responded, “He was just a good boy. He was such a good person. Never got in trouble at all his whole life.”

Windham also reminisced about first meeting Rotunda in Toronto in 1982, years before their success as a team. “It was like we were old friends when we first met,” he recalled. “When he showed up in Florida, we hit it off right off the bat, like old pals forever.” Windham smiled as he shared the best advice Rotunda ever gave him: “Slow down.”

As the interview came to a close, Windham asked fans to send their thoughts and prayers to his friend. “It’s been a great ride, and I would like for you all to pray for Mike,” he said. Apter echoed, “Pray for Mike Rotunda. We love you, Mike.”
