Big Champion Vs Champion Title Match Set for Impact 1000 – Impact Wrestling has revealed an exciting champion vs. champion showdown for their forthcoming 1000th episode special.

During Impact’s 1000th episode, reigning Impact World Champion Alex Shelley will defend his title against Trey Miguel, who holds the Impact World Tag Team Championship. This match appears to be the catalyst for a fresh rivalry between The Motor City Machine Guns and the newly crowned Impact World Tag Team Champions, The Rascalz.

Notably, this encounter marks the fourth bout between these two tag team luminaries. Miguel secured his first victory over Shelley on May 13, 2022, at Impact TV tapings. Subsequently, he retained his PWR Remix Title against Shelley at The Wrestling Revolver’s Stranger Things event on June 11, 2022. However, Shelley managed to reclaim the same title from Miguel in a gripping Iron Man match on November 12, 2022, at PWR’s Smoke ‘Em If Ya Got ‘Em event.

The impending World Title match at Impact 1000 signifies the inception of an engaging feud between The Motor City Machine Guns and The Rascalz. This narrative was further fueled by The Rascalz’s recent acquisition of the Impact World Tag Team Titles from Subculture at the Emergence pay-per-view. The transition of events subsequently led to Chris Sabin facing Zachary Wentz at Monday’s TV tapings, a bout set to air this Thursday.

The dynamic between The Motor City Machine Guns and The Rascalz has a history dating back to 2020, encompassing clashes in multiple promotions. The Rascalz, comprising Miguel and Wentz, have engaged with The Guns on a limited number of occasions, primarily in tag team configurations.

The 1000th episode of Impact is scheduled to air on Thursday, September 14, immediately following Victory Road. The special episode will be recorded on Saturday, September 9, at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY, with additional tapings to build towards Bound For Glory on October 21.
