After reflecting on Lee’s WWE career, Booker assessed his behavior behind the scenes, explaining that the two-time NXT Tag Team Champion wasn’t an issue backstage, but is unsure if his contract negations had anything to do with him being released.
“I just think the guy is uber talented. I think he can work with anybody in the world. I think his attitude was always right but I’m not Wes Lee and I’m not negotiating contracts, you know what I’m saying? That could be a totally different person, but I just think that guy, he definitely has a future in this business … it’s going to take a whole lot more than being able to go out there and give me a five star match because I think Wes Lee could actually go out there and do that.”
On Thursday, two more developmental stars were let go from the company, with WWE ID and “WWE EVOLVE” talent Bryce Donovan and Kendal Grey announcing they are no longer working with the promotion.
