It has been a rough go recently for Braun Strowman, who hasn’t been seen on WWE TV since the beginning of May. The reason for that was a neck injury that forced the former WWE Universal Champion to undergo neck fusion surgery last Friday.
Less than a week later, Strowman is going home. PWInsider reports that Strowman was released from the hospital on Monday. Despite that, fans shouldn’t expect Strowman to return any time soon, and the WWE has moved Strowman to their internal injury list, and no creative pitches have been made for him even prior to his surgery.
Nevertheless, Strowman appears to be in good spirits and has received support from several wrestlers in and out of WWE after undergoing surgery, including Ryback and Carmella. Many talents and personnel backstage at “WWE Raw” last night were said to be sympathetic towards him, due to Strowman being a well-liked figure in the WWE locker room.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride for Strowman over the past year, as the giant went from on the outside of WWE to back in the promotion, returning in September. He would cause controversy shortly after due to comments he made about high-flying wrestlers before settling into a tag team, oddly enough, with the high-flying Ricochet. While it’s unclear how long Strowman has been dealing with neck issues, things had taken a turn worse for his health starting in April, when he suffered a concussion during a “SmackDown” match with the Viking Raiders.
