After making her surprise return at the 2026 Royal Rumble, Brie is officially back alongside Nikki Bella, with the legendary duo setting their sights on the Women’s Tag Team division.

Brie returned to in-ring competition for the first time in four years during the Royal Rumble match, while Nikki had already been back with WWE for a solo run. Now reunited, the sisters feel the current state of the women’s division made the decision an easy one.

“I just feel like this is the perfect time for The Bella Twins,” Brie said during an appearance on Good Morning America. “The women’s division is on fire. It’s the best I’ve ever seen it. And I’m just like, I can’t sit at home anymore and be watching like a fan. I’m like, I gotta get in.”

The Bella Twins wasted little time making their intentions clear. During the February 2 episode of WWE RAW, they appeared live and formally announced their desire to challenge for the Women’s Tag Team Championships. That message was reinforced during their GMA interview, where Nikki Bella directly addressed the reigning champions.

“[Rhea Ripley] & IYO SKY should watch their back, just putting that warning out since they’re our current tag team champions,” Nikki said. “You know, Brie and I, we’re the OG tag team. We never had that opportunity to go for the tag titles, and we want them.”

Despite being WWE Hall of Famers, the Bella Twins have never captured the Women’s Tag Team Titles, making the pursuit of gold a significant missing piece in their legacy. Brie admitted she was unsure how fans would react to her Royal Rumble return, but the response exceeded her expectations.

She described herself as being on “cloud nine” following the event, noting that the overwhelming fan support helped confirm that returning was the right choice.

While retirement has been discussed in the past, both Brie and Nikki indicated that they are not finished anytime soon. During the interview, they acknowledged that winning the Women’s Tag Team Titles is a major goal they still want to accomplish, even suggesting that retirement may still be “years down the road.”
