CJ Perry Announces Return To Pro Wrestling – CJ Perry has confirmed that she is returning to professional wrestling, with her next chapter centered on the independent circuit. Perry made the announcement during a recent appearance on the TMZ Inside The Ring podcast, where she opened up about her future plans and her evolving role within the industry.
During the interview, Perry revealed that managing and promo work will be her primary focus, though she made it clear that physical involvement is not off the table if circumstances call for it. “I’m saving this exclusive for this podcast… I’m making an announcement that I will be returning back to professional wrestling, and I’m going to be hitting the indie scene,” Perry said. She followed up by clarifying her intentions inside the ring, adding, “My goal is not to start wrestling, but if someone has an issue with me and I need to resolve some conflict in the ring, you better believe I’m gonna hit the ready.”
Perry also discussed what has motivated her decision to return, pointing to Paul Heyman as her biggest influence. She emphasized that her goal is to elevate her mic work to another level by studying one of the most successful managers in wrestling history. “I want to be so sharp. I want to be so iconic. Paul Heyman is my favorite manager of all time. I’m always studying him and watching him,” Perry explained. As part of that effort, she revealed plans to enroll in stand-up comedy classes to further refine her verbal delivery and timing.
Looking ahead, Perry plans to travel extensively throughout the United States in search of emerging talent. She described her mission as finding “the next super athlete” to manage, positioning herself as a mouthpiece and presentation specialist for rising independent wrestlers.
Perry’s announcement comes during a busy period outside the ring as well. In late 2025, she signed a WWE Legends deal, solidifying her ongoing relationship with the company. That agreement coincided with her husband Rusev’s return to WWE television in April 2025. Rusev has since announced plans to launch his own wrestling school, Catch Academy, which will include a dedicated children’s training program.
With her return now confirmed, Perry appears set to carve out a new role in professional wrestling, blending experience, character work, and mentorship on the independent scene.
