Cody Rhodes Unfazed by WrestleMania 40 Main Event Competition – The Rock’s return to WWE sparked speculation about a possible showdown with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. This has put Cody Rhodes, who was initially expected to face Reigns at the event, in a place of uncertainty about his main event aspirations.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Rhodes acknowledged the star power of The Rock and CM Punk, recognizing the stiff competition for the spotlight at WrestleMania. Despite the loaded roster, Rhodes remains undeterred, focusing on his own path forward without rooting against anyone else.
“The Rock is The Great One–he’s still electrifying,” said Rhodes. “CM Punk is one of the greatest stars in the history of wrestling. I know what I’m up against. Look at the roster–it’s loaded with stars. But that doesn’t bother me. I’m not flinching. I’m not rooting against anyone else, I’m just working to make it happen.”
Rhodes has thrown his hat into the ring for this year’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match, while Reigns gears up to defend his title against Randy Orton, AJ Styles, and LA Knight in a high-stakes fatal 4-way at the same event. The ever-evolving WWE landscape keeps the WrestleMania possibilities intriguingly wide open.
