DAZN Ends AEW Partnership After One Year

DAZN Ends AEW Partnership After One Year – DAZN has opted to terminate its deal with AEW, ending their partnership after just one year, despite originally agreeing to a three-year contract. The decision, enacted on New Year’s Eve, has recently gained attention, coinciding with the conclusion of AEW’s Univision partnership.

According to DAZN employee and reporter Steven Muehlhausen, the split with AEW does not reflect negatively on the wrestling promotion. Instead, it stems from lower-than-expected PPV numbers and viewership, prompting DAZN to exercise its termination clause after the initial year. Muehlhausen commended AEW for their cooperation and promotional efforts throughout their collaboration, particularly highlighting AEW’s dedication to promoting their content.

Prior to the DAZN agreement, AEW had been reaching international audiences through TrillerTV, formerly known as FITE, with its AEW+ subscription service. Although DAZN’s promotion of AEW content during their partnership was limited, international fans still have access to AEW programming through platforms like TrillerTV, YouTube, and PPV.com. Pre-orders are already available for AEW’s upcoming Double or Nothing PPV in 2024.
