Dustin Rhodes Provides Update on Recovery After Double Knee Replacement

Dustin Rhodes Provides Update on Recovery After Double Knee Replacement – Dustin Rhodes has shared a positive update on his recovery following double knee replacement surgery earlier this year. The AEW veteran underwent the procedure after losing the TNT Championship to Kyle Fletcher on the July 31st episode of AEW Collision.

Responding to a fan on social media about his progress, Rhodes said, “They still hurt a bit, especially in the mornings. I do have a good ways to go. Remember I am 56 and pushing hard, just takes time. Not young anymore. Prob March I should be ready to kill everyone lol. Maybe, I am pushing hard my man.”

Despite the lingering pain, Rhodes remains determined to return to action in early 2026. His dedication to recovery reflects the same perseverance that has defined his decades-long career.

At the time of his surgery, Rhodes held two championships in Ring of Honor — he was one-half of the ROH Tag Team Champions alongside Sammy Guevara, and also part of the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions with Marshall and Ross Von Erich. Both titles were vacated following his medical leave.

In late 2024, Rhodes signed a new six-year contract with AEW, committing his future to the company where he has continued to serve as both an in-ring performer and mentor to younger talent.

Rhodes’ anticipated return in 2026 will mark another chapter in his storied career, one that continues to inspire wrestlers and fans alike.
