Balor later provided an update of his own, confirming that he had personally visited McDonagh following the surgery. Taking to social media, Balor shared encouraging words about his tag team partner’s condition and outlook.

“I just got home this very second from checking on my dear friend @jd_mcdonagh & I can confirm that he is in good spirit’s & will make a full recovery,” Balor wrote.

The bond between Balor and McDonagh runs deep. Both men are originally from Ireland, and Balor played a key role in McDonagh’s early development in professional wrestling, serving as both a trainer and mentor. That relationship later carried over to WWE, where the two aligned as members of Judgment Day on RAW.

McDonagh’s most recent in-ring appearances came shortly before his surgery. He competed on the November 21 episode of SmackDown, where he was defeated by Ilja Dragunov, and again on the November 24 edition of RAW, where he suffered a loss to Rey Mysterio. On RAW this week, it was explained on air that Balor was absent from the show because he was visiting McDonagh during his recovery.

While no official return date has been announced, both McDonagh’s comments and Balor’s update point toward a positive recovery process.
