Former WWE Star Enzo Amore Fires Shots At Wrestling’s Second-Generation Stars

Former WWE talent Enzo Amore has gone great lengths to stay in the pro wrestling business after his highly controversial exit from the promotion in 2018, after claims of sexual assault came to light. Amore has since made a name for himself on the independent circuit, and the allegations against him were dropped. During an interview with “Busted Open Radio,” however, Amore criticized how much easier second-generation wrestlers have it compared to him.Enzo Amore ahead of a match during his reign as the NXT Cruiserweight Champion. Amore had earlier clarified that he’s not looking for a second chance: “I am actually thanking the man that gave me my shot and also thanking the man that fired me, because without this experience, I could not be where I am today,” he explained, comparing himself to the Biblical figure, Moses, who had to leave Egypt and live in the desert for decades before his true purpose was revealed. “I’m looking at the industry, and it’s mine for the taking. There’s no one that could hold my jock.”

Amore also looked back at his early days in “NXT,” and recalled how he was once pulled aside by none other than John Cena, who expressed something important to him. “He said ‘Hey buddy, I’ve been watching this show for four hours, and you’re the only thing that caught my attention. Do you want to come to the ring with me and cut a promo?'” he recalled, noting how even Bully Ray noticed his ability at the time and expressed that he “caught lightning in a bottle” during the aforementioned promo.

“Brother? Triple H called me, I did not call him! I was the NIL program before it was an NIL program,” Amore pointed out. “I put proof in the pudding: you could take a kid who was a college football player, whose got a promo on him, [and] put him in the ring; but I was an anomaly.”
