Gail Kim Won’t Tolerate Anyone Blaming Velvet Sky for Her Concussion At IMPACT 1000 – Gail Kim marked her return to the wrestling ring during the IMPACT 1000 event on September 9. In a star-studded match featuring talents like Trinity, Jordynne Grace, Mickie James, and Awesome Kong, they squared off against Deonna Purrazzo, Tasha Steelz, Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans, and Angelina Love.
However, during the course of the bout, Kim encountered a harrowing moment when she took a severe bump after Velvet Sky pulled her off the ring apron. Kim later shared that she felt rattled by the incident but assured fans that she was okay.
Earlier Today, Gail Kim took to Instagram to reflect on the situation. She highlighted that she posted the clip not only to share her experience but also to emphasize the inherent high-risk nature of professional wrestling. Kim stressed the importance of promptly addressing injuries in the wrestling industry.
Furthermore, Kim made it clear that she does not endorse any form of attacks or hostility toward Velvet Sky or any other wrestler. She acknowledged that wrestling entails risks, and unforeseen events can occur. Kim candidly noted that it wasn’t her first concussion, and it may not be her last. In an effort to prioritize her health and well-being, she shared a video clip in which she underwent a medical evaluation by doctors.
Kim wrote: “After #IMPACT1000 someone posted a video clip from the match where I hit my head. I think it’s so important to show that what we do is high risk and also important to show the importance of following up with any injuries or trauma that occurs.
I didn’t want to initially show the clip but I thought in the end, it’s important to show everything. I want to stress here though:
I WILL NOT CONDONE ANY ATTACKING BEHAVIOR OR BULLYING TOWARDS VELVET OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THIS CLIP.
Professional Wrestling is a career we all enter knowing the risks we take when we perform for the fans. Shit happens. It’s not my first concussion and perhaps not my last.
This video is for information and educational purposes so that you may be able to take a step in the right direction if you experience something similar.
Thank you to @dr.rheetommy and @physicalchiropractic for always having my back (LITERALLY!) keeping my one body and mind in the best condition I can. I can’t stress enough the level of excellence your whole team puts out everyday.”
It is not known whether Gail Kim will return to the ring or how long she may be sidelined.
