On the May 6 episode, he clinched a victory against Ricochet, propelling him to the next round of the King of the Ring tournament.

In a Raw Exclusive interview, Dragunov reflected on his debut win, expressing satisfaction in elevating the competition to a higher level.

“I think so. I think so because one thing is always for sure for me. I want to fight the best. Ricochet was most certainly one of the best. But I talked about it. I made a promise. Ilja Dragunov pushes things to the next level, and that’s exactly what I did this night. I pushed things to the next level,” Dragunov said.

When asked about the warm reception from the crowd, Dragunov shared that it meant the world to him. He believes in his ability to make the audience believe in everything he does in the ring, attributing it to his relentless fighting spirit, a quality he deeply values.

“It means the world to me. If there is one thing that I think I can make people do, it’s [that] I make them believe. I make them believe everything I do in this ring. There’s one thing I stand for, and that is something that everyone in this crowd wishes to have, it’s ridiculous fighting spirit.”
