Jeff Hardy Pays Tribut to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt – In the main event of Thursday’s TNA Impact, Jeff and Matt Hardy teamed with three-time Knockouts Tag Team Champion Masha Slamovich to take on The System’s Brian Meyers, Eddie Edwards, and Tasha Steelz. The Hardys and Slamovich emerged victorious, continuing their heated feud with The System that has been brewing since Matt and Jeff made their respective returns to TNA earlier in 2024.
As seen below, Jeff Hardy paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Bray Wyatt by coming out with face paint that replicated Wyatt’s iconic mask from his “Fiend” persona. This homage caught the attention of many fans on social media, with one uploading a detailed video Jeff had made, showcasing the intricate work behind the tribute. While viewers of the broadcast may not have seen all the details, the tribute was a clear nod to Wyatt, whose untimely passing still resonates throughout the wrestling community.
Matt Hardy, speaking on his podcast The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, revealed that Jeff had long wished to collaborate more with Wyatt during their shared time in WWE. In 2020, there were even discussions about a potential partnership between The Hardys and Wyatt, where Jeff would portray his dark alter ego, Willow. The idea was proposed by then-WWE CEO Vince McMahon, contingent on Matt re-signing with the company. Though intrigued by the possibility, Matt ultimately declined, leading to his move to AEW. Despite this, Matt and Wyatt did manage to have a fruitful partnership, becoming WWE Raw Tag Team Champions in 2018. Jeff, meanwhile, went on to achieve solo success, including his fifth reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion in 2020.
