Kabuki Warriors Speak Out on WrestleMania 42 Absence

Fans who were looking for Kairi Sane and Asuka at Allegiant Stadium finally have an answer as to why the former champions were missing from the card.

Despite being one of the most popular acts in the division, the duo remained behind the curtain throughout the weekend. We now have fresh news on the Kabuki Warriors’ WrestleMania 42 absence, which reveals that the two were actually in the building and ready to compete at a moment’s notice.

Leading into WrestleMania, there was ongoing speculation about Nikki Bella’s status due to an ankle injury. During a sit-down with NeitroV, Kairi Sane and Asuka confirmed they were told to be ready as a backup option.

“Rumor has it that Nikki Bella’s ankle hasn’t fully recovered yet,” Kairi said.

Asuka added context to the situation, confirming WWE had considered them as potential replacements.

“Right, right! We were told we might be able to fill in for that match, so we were on standby just in case.”

Kairi suggested the situation remained uncertain even close to the event.

“The chances aren’t zero yet, right?”

Asuka agreed, noting they stayed prepared in case plans changed.

“Exactly. It might still be possible, so we’re staying ready and waiting.”

Kairi also revealed they had gone as far as preparing new gear specifically for the show.

“We’ve actually prepared brand new ring gear just for WrestleMania.”

Despite being on standby, the Kabuki Warriors were not ultimately used. Instead, Paige made a surprise return and teamed with Brie Bella to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

The update highlights how late changes were being considered behind the scenes due to injury concerns, with multiple options prepared before WWE finalized the direction for the match.
