La Catalina Leaves CMLL Ahead of Expected AAA Debut

La Catalina Leaves CMLL Ahead of Expected AAA DebutFor institutional purposes, this will be our only statement on the matter.”

Shortly after the announcement, reports began to surface about Catalina’s next move. According to CubsFan, she is expected to debut for AAA on Saturday, April 11. If confirmed, the move would mark a rare jump between major Mexican promotions, as talent movement between CMLL and AAA has historically been limited. It would also make her one of the first notable names to switch since WWE acquired AAA last year.

Catalina, whose real name is Catalina Aurora García Corrial, began her wrestling career more than a decade ago and built early momentum before signing with WWE in 2019. She initially competed under the name “Carolina” before being rebranded as Catalina in 2020. Her time with WWE came to an end in 2021 following a visa expiration.

She later joined CMLL, where she spent the past three years establishing herself as a key figure in the Amazonas division. During her run, she became a regular presence on major cards and gained international exposure through cross-promotional appearances.

One of her most notable matches took place in June last year at the Fantastica Mania Mexico event, where she faced Mercedes Moné. Catalina also competed multiple times for Ring of Honor as part of CMLL’s working relationship with AEW, further expanding her visibility outside of Mexico.

Her final match with CMLL took place on March 31 at Arena Coliseo, closing a chapter that saw her rise as one of the division’s recognizable names.

With her expected move to AAA, Catalina is set to enter a new phase in her career, with attention now focused on how she will be positioned in a different promotion environment.
