Countdown to WrestleMania 42 Saturday

Wade Barrett Sits Down with Randy Orton

Wade Barrett talks with Randy Orton and mentions it has been twelve years since Randy’s last WrestleMania main event. He asks whether Randy is driven by legacy or something else.

Randy says it is about legacy, but there’s something personal layered into it. He knows nothing lasts forever. The next thing to accomplish is number fifteen. After that, he has Flair and Cena in his sights. His goal is to leave the business with more gold around his waist than anyone else.

Wade brings up Randy’s return from injury and how his attitude has changed. He asks who the real Randy Orton is.

Randy says both versions are him. He’s not going to take anything in the ring for granted anymore, but he also won’t let anything get in his way. He had someone in his ear making sure he got the job done. He knows what he has to do. Randy mentions “the voice,” and how it reminded him what he had to do to be the bad man again.

Wade brings up their time in Legacy and how Cody had to find himself.

Randy says he’s proud of Cody for doing what he did. Cody got better, he came back, he finished his story. Now it’s time for Randy to finish his. He loves Cody like a brother now — and he will still love him after he beats Cody for the title. Cody is hearing the voices telling him he cannot do it. Cody will have to be carried out.

Jackie Redmond with AJ Lee

Jackie Redmond is with AJ Lee and asks what this night means to her.

AJ says everything she fought for a decade ago is happening today. Tonight is the ultimate mountain — her Mount Everest. Twelve years ago she walked into WrestleMania as champion and walked out as champion, and she says it will happen again.

Vic Joseph with Sol Ruca

Vic Joseph stands with Sol Ruca and asks her about the WrestleMania vibe. Sol says it’s incredible to be around all of it. She mentions she already had a WrestleMania moment, but hopes to be in a match next year.

Vic asks Sol about her match against Zaria.

Sol says it’s all jealousy from Zaria, and she hopes to be the last woman standing on Tuesday night.

Vic brings up Sol’s Royal Rumble performance, facing Bayley on the night of John Cena’s farewell, and now being here at WrestleMania.

Sol says she will prove that she belongs here.

Cathy Kelley with Stephanie Vaquer

Cathy Kelley is with Stephanie Vaquer and asks her about making her WrestleMania debut.

Stephanie says she has worked her entire life to get to WrestleMania. She has worked her entire life to hold this title. This is the most important match of her career. For Liv, it’s about fame and self‑promotion. For Stephanie, tonight is about her journey.

Byron Saxton with Drew McIntyre

Byron Saxton asks Drew McIntyre about Jacob Fatu’s promo on SmackDown.

Drew says he isn’t playing mind games — he’s telling the truth. You can’t play mind games with someone who doesn’t have a brain. Drew says while he was getting an education, Fatu was in jail. He studied criminology, and he learned that criminals re‑offend. Fatu took his title. He took his WrestleMania. Drew says he will use every weapon against Jacob.

He says it’s for Fatu’s wife and kids, because Jacob will be back in the joint. Drew says he might not be everyone’s hero, but he is the hero they need.

Shawn Michaels Joins the Panel

Shawn Michaels joins the panel, and they look back at the Hart vs. Michaels Iron Man Match.

Corey asks if Shawn knew that match would mean so much to people.

Shawn says Bret might have thought that way, but he himself was thinking day to day. He didn’t consider the long‑term impact at the time. He admits he isn’t a fan of knowing a match is going to go an hour — he prefers not knowing. He says there is no one other than Bret Hart he would have rather been out there with.

They ask Shawn about the new talent on this year’s show.

Shawn says he is proud of everyone who comes through NXT. He mentions Trick, Oba, Je’Von, and Lash. They knew Lash was something special. All of them had something. Will they be as special as people think? Shawn says you always worry about being disappointed, but these four are going to be some of the most successful of the future.

Corey asks about recognizing when young talent “gets it.”

Shawn says you can see when someone is special. They look like they have potential. Plenty of people have had potential and it didn’t work out. But none of these four were afraid to be coached. You could challenge them, test them, push them — and they stood up to that testing.

Top Celebrity Moments at WrestleMania — Video Package

We get a look back at some of the biggest celebrity moments in WrestleMania history.

Cathy Kelley with IShowSpeed

Cathy is with IShowSpeed. He says it’s crazy that he’s wrestling at WrestleMania. He feels like he’s at a point where he has to give his all. He admits he’s nervous. He says he doesn’t even know how he got into this.

Cathy asks about his training.

Speed says it has been hectic. Logan and Austin have been motivational, but he hopes everything goes well.

Michael Cole Interviews Roman Reigns

Michael Cole mentions an interview he conducted with Roman Reigns.

Cole asks Roman if things feel different when he isn’t there.

Roman says this is his family business. He was born for this. He says it’s God’s plan to put him in this position. This is what he was meant to do.

Cole asks about Roman and WrestleMania — eleven main events.

Roman says that’s his legacy. He used to tell the twins they were representing the family and their legacy. To have eleven WrestleMania main events is something he’s proud of.

Cole brings up CM Punk and 2012 with The Shield.

Roman says nothing drew him to Punk. The higher powers put him into the group. Punk was cool to him — they traveled together, trained together. But you don’t take out what’s going on with the office on the boys. Punk was being CM Punk, and he took his ball and went home.

Cole asks if Roman is irked because Punk wasn’t here while Roman was rising to the top.

The conversation will continue tomorrow.

WrestleMania 42 Saturday Preview

For the second straight year, WWE WrestleMania returns to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada — but this time, both nights of WrestleMania 42 feature championship matches in the main event spotlight.

WrestleMania Saturday closes with the Undisputed WWE Championship clash between Cody Rhodes and his former mentor Randy Orton. Rhodes reclaimed the title from Drew McIntyre on the March 6 edition of SmackDown, while Orton punched his ticket to the main event by winning the 2026 Men’s Elimination Chamber. Their rivalry has only grown more chaotic thanks to the involvement of Jelly Roll and Pat McAfee, with McAfee vowing that if Orton loses on WWE’s biggest stage, fans will “never see or hear him in wrestling again.” Whether that threat influences the outcome remains to be seen.

Night One also showcases three major women’s championship matches. WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defends against Royal Rumble winner Liv Morgan, who has been laser‑focused on reclaiming the spotlight. Elsewhere, Becky Lynch looks to finally score her first singles victory over AJ Lee as she challenges for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. A win would give Lynch her third reign with the title. And in one of the most stacked matches of the weekend, Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Lash Legend defend against Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, Lyra Valkyria & Bayley, and The Bella Twins in a Fatal Four‑Way showdown.

Two former World Heavyweight Champions collide as GUNTHER and Seth Rollins meet one‑on‑one, with GUNTHER promising to “expose” Rollins on the grand stage.

Fans in the United States will see WrestleMania 42’s first hour on ESPN2, which includes the in‑ring debut of streamer IShowSpeed. He teams with The Vision’s Logan Paul and Austin Theory to face LA Knight and The Usos. Meanwhile, the long‑running feud between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre reaches its breaking point in an Unsanctioned Match, guaranteeing absolute chaos.
