Matt Riddle Turns Heel at MLW Slaughterhouse

Matt Riddle Turns Heel at MLW Slaughterhouse – “The King of Bros” is officially no more. At MLW’s Slaughterhouse event on Saturday night, former WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle shocked fans by turning heel, abandoning the laid-back persona that made him one of the most beloved stars of the past decade. In its place, Riddle declared the rise of a darker, more ruthless character he is calling the “Rude Dude.”

The turn came in the dramatic closing moments of Riddle’s match against former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Hammerstone. As Hammerstone prepared to deliver his “Nightmare Pendulum” finisher, Mads Krugger stormed the ring and attacked him. Moments later, Dijak appeared wielding a steel chair, further escalating the chaos. With the referee down and the match in disarray, Riddle capitalized by striking Hammerstone with a low blow before covering him for the decisive pin.

After securing the victory, Riddle grabbed a microphone and made it clear that his days as the “King of Bros” were finished. He announced that the relaxed, fun-loving character fans had grown accustomed to was gone, replaced by a new ruthless competitor determined to leave a very different mark on the industry.

Riddle’s “King of Bros” persona carried him from MMA to professional wrestling’s biggest stages. A former UFC fighter, he signed with WWE in 2018 and quickly rose to prominence in NXT before moving to the main roster, where he captured the United States Championship and won the Raw Tag Team Titles twice alongside Randy Orton in the wildly popular “RK-Bro” tag team.

Since leaving WWE, Riddle has found success across the independent scene, including a stint in NJPW where he captured the NJPW World Television Championship. This heel turn in MLW marks a bold new chapter for his career, signaling a reinvention that could redefine how fans view him moving forward.
