Maven Names Bron Breakker as Ideal Opponent for John Cena’s Final WWE Match – John Cena’s farewell match is officially set for December 13 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, marking the end of his legendary in-ring career. Cena will face the winner of a tournament taking place in the coming weeks to determine his final opponent.
Former WWE Superstar Maven recently shared his thoughts on who should have the honor of facing Cena in his last match. During an appearance on TMZ’s Inside The Ring podcast, Maven explained that Cena’s opponent should be someone the company views as a future cornerstone.
“It’s going to have to be someone that they’re trying to push moving forward. Someone that they see to carry the ball, you know, for the next 10 years, someone that needs the push. That’s the whole thing in wrestling. When someone’s on the way down and on the way out, their job is to pass the rock to here. You take it from here,” Maven said.
He compared Cena’s upcoming sendoff to The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak, noting how valuable such a passing-of-the-torch moment can be for the next generation. Maven then named Bron Breakker as his personal choice to face Cena.
“Just because I’m selfish and I like the guy a lot… I do have a feed and I catch up with it, and I could not be more just impressed with Bron (Breakker). I just think he’s just—if you were in a lab making a wrestler, my God, you’d make him. It’s just insane,” Maven continued.
He praised Breakker not only for his athletic ability but also for his professionalism and presentation, highlighting his recent ESPN SportsCenter appearance.
“What finally sold me on him too, and it’s something that you don’t think of as being important, but my God, it is… they had Bron on SportsCenter and dressed up in a suit, and you need someone that’s going to be so well-spoken, someone that’s going to represent your company well. That was one of Cena’s magical parts about him for all those years. He could do what he could do in the ring, but then you knew he was going to represent the company glowingly,” he said.
Maven concluded by saying that Breakker has the same qualities that made Cena the face of WWE for nearly two decades. “When I watched Bron, and he’s so well-spoken, he comes off making the company look great. So, I think selfishly, just because I’m such a fan of his, I’d like to see maybe him in that. That’s an important spot.”
